About IBD
Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis are non-contagious and non-infectious illnesses, generally known as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which affect over one million people in Europe. At present, there is no known cause or cure.
EFCCA and EYG are organizations that work to help people with IBD.
IBD and young people
- The most common age for diagnosis is between 10 and 40
- The number of people with IBD has been rising in recent years, particularly among younger people
- IBD might particualrly affect young people during education, or when starting their career
